Under 10 Grade

Years:
U10 (9-yrs) as at September 1st of enrolment year.

Venue:
All games will be played in the Hutt Valley.

When:
Sat. 8:30 -11.15am.

Game:
High participation style of cricket. The hardball (142g) is introduced at this grade. Normal cricket rules starting to apply. Batters can start to develop an innings but must retire at 25 runs. Stricter wide and no-ball rules apply compared with Midget. The emphasis is on learning to adapt to the hardball, developing an innings and fun. Everyone must bowl at least 2 overs.

Clothing:
White shorts or longs, club T shirt or polo shirt and a hat.

Gear:
All playing gear provided by the club. All boys should have their own groin protector (box). Some children have their own bats and helmets.

Protective equipment:
Groin Protector (box) for boys, pads, gloves and helmets. Helmets for wicketkeepers.

Teams:
Teams of 10-12 are chosen by convenor to try and achieve balanced teams.

Draw:
Maximum 18 games per season. No overall winning team.

Cancellations:
NewsTalk ZB at 7.30 and 8am as “Hutt Valley Junior Cricket, all games are cancelled”
