Premiers Grade

Years:

Talented Year 8 children. A streamed grade. Children enrol for only half the year in October and stop at Christmas after which they play for their college or high school.

Venue:

All games in the Wellington region.

When:

Sat. 8:30 - 2.00pm.

Game:

Normal cricket rules starting to apply. 40 over game Batters must retire at 50 runs. Competition points apply.

Clothing:

White shorts or longs, club polo shirt and a hat.

Gear:

All gear provided by the club. Most children have their own bats, helmet, gloves, etc.

Protective equipment:

Boxes for boys, pads, gloves and helmets. Helmets for wicketkeepers.

Teams:

Teams of 11-12 are chosen by the grade convenor.

Draw:

Maximum 18 games per season (usually loose 4 through wet weather). Draw done by Cricket Wellington 2 weeks in advance. No overall winning team.

Cancellations:

NewsTalk ZB at 7.30 and 8am as, “Wellington Junior Cricket all games are cancelled”
