Managing

What do Managers do?

Managers support the coaches and are the main organisers for their team.

A manager must take responsibility for the planning and organising of the team. This allows the coach to concentrate on coaching. It is important that coaches and managers are clear about what each of them is to do and that they communicate well.

Managers should:
  • Attend weekly team practice
  • Ensure players know where and when the team practices
  • Ensure players know where and when they are playing each week
  • Fill out the incident form for any injuries etc that may occur (at practice or game)
  • Inform grade convenor of any changes in contact details of their team members
  • Inform grade convenor of any new member to their team
  • Collect any unpaid fees
  • Organise a scorer for Saturday’s game
  • Ensure results from Saturday’s game is passed to convenor
  • Organise money and attendance for cricket photos
  • Help organise their 6-a-side team
  • Organise their team’s contribution to any club sponsorship event for the year
  • Inform convenor of any team issue/discipline problem
  • Follow-up with any children who are late or absent for games
